The education of the students in the specialties of the Department of "Economics and International Relations" is carried out by highly qualified teachers and specialists from practice.

Students in the Department of Economics and International Relations can participate in research alongside their professors, learning how to investigate difficult cases, solve problems and describe their results in scientific reports.
The entire material, technical and information base available to the university is available to the students. The most popular among them are the computer laboratories, the library, the "Confucius" classroom for free Chinese language study, as well as the Kanev Centre, where important events for the university are regularly held.
The department implements and methodically directs the training in the "Economics" and "European and International Cooperation" specialties in the "Bachelor" education and qualification degree.
The specialization "Economics" (curriculum) is in professional direction 3.8. Economy. Students receive solid training, acquire knowledge and develop skills in several leading economic areas: popular theories and research methods in economics in this specialty.;

- Marketing Research and Analysis;
- Basic Knowledge of European Project Financing;
- Development of Communication Skills in Business.
Graduates acquire the professional qualification "Economist" and can work in companies from the private and public sector, as advisers, experts or consultants.
The specialty "European and International Cooperation" (curriculum) is in professional direction 3.3. Political Sciences. It is the first multidisciplinary Bachelor's program in Bulgaria, in which students acquire knowledge and develop skills in the following areas: International Cooperation in Business, Public and Non-governmental Sectors;
- Preparation of European and other international projects for the business, public and non-governmental sector;
- Internationalization (entering international markets) of micro, small and medium enterprises;
- Work in an international team, soft skills and digital literacy;
- Marketing skills in an international, multicultural and digital environment;
- Communication skills in a multicultural environment and business English (level C1 of the European Language Framework).
The graduates acquire the professional qualification "Expert in European Programs and International Activities" and can work in organizations from the private, public and non-governmental sectors, or as advisers, experts or consultants.
In the educational and qualification degree "Master", the department implements and methodically supervises the training in the specialties "Finance, Accounting and Auditing in Business" - part-time form (curriculum for three-semester study after Educational Qualification Degree Bachelor "Economics", curriculum for four-semester studies after Educational Qualification Degree Bachelor in field of higher education "Social, Economic and Legal Sciences"), "Finance, Accounting and Auditing in the Public Sector" - part-time form (curriculum for three-semester study after Educational Qualification Degree Bachelor "Economics", curriculum for four-semester study after Educational Qualification Degree Bachelor in the field of higher education "Social, Economic and Legal Sciences") and " European Studies and Public Administration /BRIE/" - regular form (curriculum for four semester studies).
